Menu For The Week of April 16th

This Week's Theme: "Spring's 'Round The Corner"
Eggplant & Tapanade Ravioli Appetizer Smokey eggplant caviar with garlic, capers, olives and fresh Italian parsley wrapped in delicately thin layers of pasta, then slowly poached and served with a garlic basil, fresh tomato and pine nut flavored sauce. Serve these tasty ravioli with some freshly grated Pecorino Romano cheese $9 per portion Pasta Fagiole (pronounced 'pasta fash zool') This classic soup of pasta and beans is a 'stick to your ribs' classic. We make it with onions, carrots, celery root, ditalini pasta, white cannelini beans, veggie stock and Marinara sauce flavored with oregano and basil. Make it a meal by itself or add a simple salad and you will be happy tonight. Sprinkle a little Pecorino Romano over the top for a tasty treat $11 per quart (2-3 servings) Roasted Root Veggie Salad Roasted potatoes, leeks, carrots, parsnips, spaghetti squash, golden potatoes with red leaf lettuce in a roasted shallot and red wine vinaigrette. This is probably our last winter style salad for the year but it is a tasty comibination of ingredients $7 per portion Penne with Sausage And Broccoli Sautéed garlic, home-made hot Italian sausage, blanched broccoli, organic baby spinach with pine nuts and Pecorino Romano cheese in a light olive oil sauce. Another classic pasta dish to be enjoyed with friends and family $13 per portion Scallopini of Chicken Abruzza Thinly sliced medallions of chicken with prosciutto and melted manchego cheese in a caramelized onion and sherry demi glace. Served with risotto and house veggies. This classic Italian chicken dish, with a little help from Spain for the cheese, tastes great and used to be a favorite at Pomodoro. $16 per portion Smokey Roast Loin of Pork Barbeque slowly smoked and served with our spicy sweet barbecue sauce and pecan and apricot flavored corn bread stuffing, cinnamon carrots vichy and house veggies. We enjoyed this combination of flavors tonight for dinner and we think you will enjoy it to. $15 per portion Grilled Smokey Mahi-Mahi Sesame Sesame oil and garlic marinated mahi-mahi smoked and grilled. Served with crimini mushroom spiked, healthy, country-style mashers and organic garlic spinach $20 per portion NY Times™ Supernatural Fudge Brownie Sundae This week in the NY Times food section we saw an article about brownies. We thought these brownies sounded delicious, so we are going to pair them with our favorite fresh Madagascar vanilla bean ice cream. Then we top this sundae off with garam masala candied pecans and our dark chocolate cherry sauce. Just the ticket if you've been eating 'light' all week and, now, you are looking for something to blow your diet. $6 each House Veggies: Something Good To Be Announced (Definitely something green...and...?)

April Birthdays & Celebrations
April is a big month for us. We share a few birthdays with friends and family and we celebrate our anniversary. We usually try to have a meal outside on the patio with a nice wine to celebrate one of the events but, fortunately this year, we have been dining outside for the last few weeks. I spoke to our fish purveyor and they reminded us that soon wild salmon season will start. We look forward to that time of year. We definitely look forward to salmon season and a few of those tasty morsels are going to find their way into the new smoker. We will report back to you with the results. Keep in mind that we are interested in your feedback and you can influence the menu for the following week
